In this guide I provide 10 tips on how you can stretch your budget when traveling long-term with your family.

The Logistics of Family Travel

Day 1 - Facilitated by Amy Sztupovszky

Planning a two week vacation can seem daunting, planning a family-travel lifestyle can seem overwhelming!

Whether you are planning a three month trip, a one-year around the world, or you are transitioning into a location independent traveling lifestyle, there is a mountain of logistical planning that is involved both before and during your adventure.

In this Academy we'll cover:

  • How to stay safe and implement safety plans for you and your children.
  • How to handle money and banking on the road.
  • How to find cheap flights.
  • How to learn about and apply for Visas.
  • How to find discounted hotel and vacation rental stays.
  • How to maximize your travel dollars.
  • What to pack in your bags and what type of bags you should look for.
  • What items are travel necessities and what items are a waste of money.
  • How to avoid costly planning mistakes (we learned from experience so you don't have to!!)
  • How to connect with worldschoolers while you travel.
  • How to help your children adjust, schedule in enough down time, and keep travel interesting for each member of your family.
  • And more!

I'll be giving practical advice from my years of experience of traveling with my familiy as well as sharing stories from other travelers whom we have met as we've explored the world. We'll end the day in a panel discussion with the Family Adventure Academy team so all your burning questions will get answered!

A little background on me, Amy Sztupovszky

I've been traveling the world with my husband and two children since 2012. Our family enjoys the best of both worlds, typically traveling for between 3 to 6 (and up to 18!) months  at a time and enjoying the pleasures of our home base in British Columbia the rest of the year.

I have been living my dream of raising my two boys as global citizens. My family follows a worldschooling and unschooling philosophy and I believe that learning through travel is the best education I can provide for my children and for myself! You can find out more about our journey at WorldSchoolAdventures.com  (although admittedly I don't blog much anymore) and follow our travels on FB and Instagram.
